RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

The best thing I have done this term is being part of 30 Random Acts of Kindness in 30 Days. On Friday a person from ‘30 Random Acts of Kindness in 30 Days’ came in, his name was Grant. He had a camera man with him called Hayden. First Hayden filmed us making biscuits and cards for our buddies. Later Grant came in and we were singing a waiata. He introduced himself and then we grabbed our biscuits and cards and ran to our buddy class. When we were in there we shouted as loud as we could then we gave our buddies their biscuits and cards. It was Grant’s birthday so we all sang happy birthday to him and gave him a card and a biscuit. Afterwards we went outside and played Seaweed. We had so much fun. I can’t wait to do something like that again!

WE VALUE...

Room 14 have been discussing the Nelson Central School Strategic Plan.

NELSON CENTRAL SCHOOL:
VISION: A passion for life-long learning
MISSION: To inspire excellence in everyone
VALUES: Doing our best
Getting along with others
Looking after our world
Making good choices

We think all of these ideas are really important. Here are what we think the 'VALUES' should look like in the classroom: What else do you think should be added?

TRIP TO THE QUEEN'S GARDENS

THE TRIP TO THE QUEEN’S GARDENS:

On Friday 21st of August room 14 walked to the Queen’s Gardens. We walked there for a reward because we filled up the Kotahitanga jar. I walked there with Oscar, Arjuna and Desiah. When we got to the Queen’s Gardens we unpacked and we had our lunch. After lunch we played finding bugs. Oscar found a centipede and Jay found a snail. Oscar called his Centy and Jay called his Trailly. I wanted to find one but I couldn’t.

After that we packed up and went to the Japanese garden. At the garden Oscar lost Centy. I also tried to find a worm but I couldn’t.

On the way back to school we went a different way. When we got back we watched Prehistoric Park. I had an awesome day!

LUNCH AT THE QUEEN’S GARDENS:

On Friday room 14 walked to the Queen’s Gardens because it was Kiri’s last day at school. Our class got together and started walking. I walked with Toby, Arjuna and Arjuna’s mum. When we got there we all had lunch I sat on a big tree with Toby and Jay.

After lunch we had a play. I played tag, climbed trees and found a centipede. I called the centipede Centey. Jay found a snail and called it Trailly. Then we packed up and walked to the Japanese garden. When we were there I dropped my Centey. After that we walked back to room 14 and watched some of Prehistoric Park. It was a great day. I can’t wait to do it again.

LUNCH AT THE QUEEN’S GARDENS:

On Friday 21st of August room 14 walked to the Queen’s Gardens because it was Kiri’s last day. Some parents came too but only two. When we got to the Queen’s Gardens we got set up and had lunch. I sat next to Eva and Ana, they’re my two best friends. After lunch we played lots of games like tag, bubbles and climbing trees.

After we had played some games and did all the stuff we needed to do we packed up and walked to the Japanese garden. It was amazing, there were lots of things made of concrete. Then it was time to go so we lined up and walked back to school. We saw shags nests and water wheels. It was so much fun. I can’t wait until next time.
