SUTER ART GALLERY - LANDSCAPES

We had a great time at the Suter Art Gallery. Esther taught us all about Landscape drawings. Now we can create space in our landscapes by using angles; overlapping; changing size and drawing a winding path or river.

Dear Esther,

Thank you for showing us the exhibitions at the Suter Art Gallery. My favourite exhibition was ‘Find It’. My favourite thing was finding all of the animals. My favourite painting was The Three Swans. I liked drawing a picture of Mrs Suter and I gave her a dog, cat and a fantail.

I love the Art Gallery!

Dear Esther,

Thank you for teaching us at the Suter Art Gallery. My favourite exhibition was ‘White Gold’. This was my favourite because we got to make a cow. We had to finish the cows at school. I made a sightful cow. I really liked the sculptures of cows and I also enjoyed drawing the cows.

I can not wait until we can go again. I will see you on a Saturday.

Dear Esther,

Thank you for showing us the exhibitions at the Suter Art Gallery. My favourite exhibition was ‘Bing Dawe’. It was fun because we got to make clay birds in the theatre. It was cold in the theatre.

We scraped the sides of the birds. We also made the beak on the birds. Then you took the birds to your home and fired them in the kiln. When the birds came back to school Room 14 painted the birds.

Thanks you Esther. I will see you next year.

Dear Esther,

Thank you for all of the fantastic exhibitions. My favourite exhibition was ‘Bing Dawe’. I liked this exhibition because we got to learn about shags. I always stop and look at the shags in Queens Gardens. It was fun when we made our own clay birds. Then we painted our birds at school. That was so cool!

I can’t wait to go again next year!

TEAPOT VALLEY CAMP

Dear Brian,

Thank you for taking us to Teapot Valley Camp and back to school I had fun!

My favourite part of camp was going on the mini jeep. It was the best think because we got to have 10 rounds on it. It was awesome.

I also enjoyed the Ed’s Alley trampoline. It was the best because we went really high and could go upstairs to the bowling part.

I had the best time. I can not wait until I go to camp again.

From Lucy

Dear Andrea,

Thank you for driving me to Teapot Valley Camp. I had a super-duper time.

My favourite activity at camp was the giant trampoline. I liked the giant trampoline because it was bouncy and we bounced high.

I also enjoyed the Burma Trail. We got blindfolded and had to follow a rope, it was very muddy!

I had a fantastic time and I can’t wait to go next year.

From Eva

MASKED PARADE: POETIC WRITING

I felt hot and bothered.
I had dancing ants in my pants.
I heard very loud shouting, stamping feet to the music and lots of chatterboxes.
It looked like everyone taking pictures and cheering.
It smelled like hot crispy salty chips and steaming sausages.

By Eva

I heard people having conversations about how cool and beautiful the masks were.
I saw people looking out for their kids and taking photos.
I smelled the candy floss, pink fluffy candy floss. Yum.
